Aloe Vera
What is it?
Aloe Vera has been used for centuries for skin and digestive problems.
The plant is well known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-viral actions. the plant itself looks rather like a cactus but is not as prickly and if you give it a squeeze is soft on the inside, this is because aloe vera can actually be used straight from the plant, you snap the stem and you get a light sticky gel, which can be put straight onto eczema, spots, cuts, rashes, stings and sun burn.
It can be purchased from any health shop, we find it is best to keep the tube in the fridge so if it is required it is nice and chilled. This should be applied to any affected area 2 or 3 times a day.
This can also be taken internally but you would need aloe vera juice which is a great remedy for IBS. Just a warning though, the taste isn't wonderful, but we have found definitely helps if you suffer with wind and bloating.
