Alfalfa
Where does it originate?
Alfalfa is a plant which was used by early Chinese Physicians to treat disorders of the digestive tract, and in fact has a number of uses for the body.
What is it good for?
It is known as a 'superfood'; if possible incorporate Alfalfa into your diet as it acts as an antioxidant.
It is also used for:
- Arthritis
- Menopause symptoms
- Water Retention
- Jaundice
- Loss of appetite
Although there is no specified amount there are some recommedations of 500-1000mg a day.
Other ways of getting it into your diet:
- Can be purchased as a dried herb.
- Tincture
- Tablets/Capsules
You may also find this included in a multivitamin.
Where you buy it and the cost
All the above items can be found in most health shops, and it will probably cost a few pound in which ever form you buy it.
Adverse Effects:
- Some people have been known to be allergic to the herb.
