Where does it originate?
What is it good for?
Onions are a good source of quercetin; the Institute of Food Research found quercetin has a beneficial effect on cells lining our blood vessels, hence it helps prevent chronic inflammation of and thickening of the heart's arteries. Quercetin can also be found in tea, apples and red wine.
They are known source to help support the immune system.
Other ways of getting it into your diet:
They are only found as a food based item so we have come across a few homke remedies on how ways of eating them.
Stick them in a big stew on a cold day or if you are suffering from a cold.
Mash them up woth potato to hide the tast if you don't like them.
Grill or roast them, they taste good.
Where you buy it and the cost
All supermarkets have them but there are many different varities.
