Book Review - Finally Fit at 50 by Porter Freeman - 8th Sept 2010
Although we don't tend to write many book reviews, there is something about this book which is just really charming.

This is Porter Freeman's second attempt at writing his experiences of life and fitness. It is a very blunt account of why Porter wanted to change his body and his lifestyle. He is not a preacher; he just wants you, the reader, to be healthy and well. He writes as if he was talking directly to you, and he really does write from the heart. The book is full of compassion but is not soppy, there are sad times, but he does not dwell on those periods.
Above all this book is completely honest. He even puts the us, the reader, and himself to shame when he whinges about going to the gym for 30 minutes, but reminds himself of someone he knew in the SAS who encountered experiences that no man would wish upon his enemy.

This book does not focus on how to get into shape, but is about finding the motivation and discpline to start your journey.
A motivational read, but not over the top. It makes you think, appreciate and is definietly a wake up call that the excuses we use to not look after our own health and train are somewhat, how can we put..... total and utter crap.
